Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother
After a resilient battle against cancer, Shirley passed on January 12th, 2024, in her home in Woodbury, MN. She was surrounded by her loving family in her last months.
Shirley was born in Yakima, Washington, then her family soon moved to Minnesota, where she established her roots and made her home. Where in 1965, she was married to her loving husband of 58 years, Kenneth Dimmick.
Shirley loved to travel to visit her children when they were serving in the US Military and as they moved away from home. She would eventually travel to see her grandchildren in far-away places. She was able to travel to Okinawa, Guam, Hawaii, California, Texas, Arkansas and Washington D.C. She was also well known for loving to tend to her garden in the backyard and was immensely proud of her beautiful creations.
Shirley worked at EcoWater in Woodbury for 35 years, where she was a production worker and proud member and Steward of Teamsters Union Local 120.
Preceded in death by her parents Greg and Virginia Jahner, and her brother Greg (JR) (Colleen).
Survived by Husband Kenneth; Sisters Carol Axtman, Linda (Dan) Williams, Bonnie Bauer and Mary (Paul) Kelly; Sister-in-law Marie (Dimmick) Tjaden; Son David (Naomi) of CA, sons Ryo (Marino) of Okinawa, Ian (Rihono) of Okinawa, Joshua of CA, Logan (Sarah) of CA, and Damian of OR; Grandchildren Yuiki, Ema, Koh, Shieri, Ann and Lyn; Son Jeffrey of MN, daughter Brooke; Son Anthony of TX, daughters Taylor (Jordan), Kaylie (James), Abby and son Abram; Grandchildren Greyson, Everett, JP and Myla; Daughter Angela (Clinton) Hardecke of AR, sons Noah and Wyatt; And many more nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for Shirley will be held Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Wulff Woodbury Funeral Home, 2195 Woodlane Drive, Woodbury, Minnesota 55125.
