Preceding him in death were Bonnie, his wife of 56 years; parents Arnold and Gladys Zube; sister Virginia Olson (Clinton).
He is survived by daughter Ann Stout (Dan) and their children Rachel and William; son Robert (Christine) and their children Robert, Richard and Marie; nieces and nephews.
Bob was born in Minneapolis, grew up in Fargo, ND, and graduated in 1952 from NDAC (now NDSU). Facing induction for the Korean War, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was commissioned as a naval aviator. He flew jet fighters from aboard the Pacific Fleet aircraft carrier USS Hancock; he remembered many friends and acquaintances who lost their young lives to non-combat operations. After naval service Bob’s career began with Beech Aircraft Corporation where he introduced new models of light twin-engine airplanes to dealers and customers nationwide. He and Bonnie later moved, with Ann, to the Twin Cities. There Bob sold and marketed petroleum transportation and aircraft refueling vehicles and equipment until his retirement in 1994. Bob enjoyed his family, church fellowship and good reading. His favorite pastime was writing personal and family stories.
Visitation will begin at 10am followed by service at 11am on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Wulff Woodbury Funeral Home, 2195 Woodlane Dr., Woodbury. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
