Rita Pavel

Rita was born on October 28, 1929, in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of William and Frances (Malack) Blaeser. She married John W. Pavel on November 5, 1949. Together they raised nine children.

Rita retired from 3M in 1991 after many years working as an administrative assistant.

She loved playing cards, Bingo, shopping, movies, holidays, spending time with family and friends and always looked forward to Monday family lunches. She absolutely loved her blueberries, and anything chocolate, especially her chocolate martinis.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband John of 63 years; son Jerry; parents William and Frances Blaeser; brothers Paul, Bill, and Chuck Blaeser.

She is lovingly survived by her children:

Jan (John) Dombrow; John (Chris) Pavel III; Jody (Jon) Meier; Jay (Dawn) Pavel; Jill (Joe) Bonfe; Julie (Dirk) Tate; Jamie Pavel; and Jenny (Pete) Poepping.

Grandchildren

Shane (Marissa) Pavel; Robyn (Jamie) Pauli; Ryan Lee; Megan Lee; Tori Pavel; Brody Pavel; Joe (Kristina) Bonfe; Tyler (Mechelle) Bonfe; Connor (Emily) Bonfe; Jessica Bonfe (Jake); Dan (Nikki) Tate; Alex Tate; Caitlin (Devin) Mulcahy; Sam Pavel; Hayley Pavel; Anthony Poepping (Amber); Allison Poepping (Brady); and Jack Poepping.

22 Great-grandchildren

Two brothers and two sisters: Don (Marylou) Blaeser; Theresa Carufel; Barbara Turnage; and Edward (Linda) Blaeser.

Rita is further survived by other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00am, Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the Church of Saint Joseph, 1138 Seminole Ave. West St. Paul, MN. There will be visitation at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 am.

Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights, MN

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to donor’s choice.
