She was preceded in death by her husband, William; parents, Christopher and Viola; brother, Ray (Rose) Tarte; and sister, Veranse (Vin) Ketterer.
Norma is survived by sons Mark (Elsie) Strachota and Chuck (Helayne) Schneider; grandchildren Kimberly and Jeffery; 2 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
For 30 years, Norma was considered one of the top female vocalists in the Twin City area. She sang with many big bands under the stage name Norma Tarry.
Norma also worked at the St. Paul Pioneer Press in the 1970s and 1980s, assisting her husband, Bill, with many promotional activities, including hiding the Winter Carnival Medallion in the 80s.
Her highest achievement was being the best mother ever.
A funeral service for Norma will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM, with a visitation one hour prior, at Cerenity Senior Care, 200 Earl Street, St. Paul, MN. Inurnment will take place on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
