She is preceded in passing by her grandmother, Priscilla Elaine René and aunt, Dolly Carpenter.
Naomi's legacy will live on through her son, Elijah Edward Carpenter. She is survived by her parents, David and Sherri Carpenter; birth parents, Veronica Horne and Keni Granroos; siblings, Andrew (Kara) Carpenter, Rachel Carpenter, Sarah Carpenter, and Elliana Carpenter; niece, Maleigha Carpenter; Anthony Peterson; and many other family members and friends.
Her son, Elijah, was her pride and joy. Naomi loved him wholeheartedly and was committed to being a good mom above all else. She worked hard at Target to provide for herself and Elijah, rushing home to spend evenings and wake times with her son. Elijah’s face would light up whenever she spoke to him.
Naomi was an artist at heart. From the time she could walk, she expressed herself through art. She was an accomplished makeup artist and was very photogenic resulting in an abundance of artistic photographs on all family phones, tablets, and computers. She loved looking the role of whatever she did. Whether hanging out with friends or working, Naomi’s appearance would always match what she was doing.
Naomi loved going on adventures. Exploring downtown St. Paul with people and seeing the beauty of inner-city architecture was one of her favorite pastimes. She looked forward to hunting with her dad, harvesting three of her own deer. There wasn’t an animal she didn’t love and took opportunities to join Rachel at the dairy barn and horse ranch, cuddling with feathered friends or four-legged furballs. Over the years, she and Veronica would enjoy fishing, trips to “the Wal”, and scary-movie nights. Following Anthony’s passion for car audio, she purchased her own sub-woofer for her car. She took pride in other people’s hobbies and passions, often participating, enjoying, and celebrating their accomplishments with them.
Naomi expressed faith in Jesus Christ as her savior at a young age and spoke to her friends about Jesus as the only way to heaven. Her favorite Bible verse was Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
She will be remembered for her unique laugh, beautiful blue eyes and radiant smile.
