Gently passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his wife Kathleen S. Sego; Son, Sean Sego; and Daughter-n-law Michelle Sego Wednesday evening December 21st. Lewis was a loving husband of more than 55 years, and is survived by his adored wife, Kathleen S. Sego, his beloved five children; Lewis P. Sego II (Nancy), Charles T. Sego (Kirstin), Bryon W. Sego (Kathy), Sean P. Sego (Michelle), and Kathleen M. Brown (Rich); his sister Dianne Snider; nephew, Jonathan, and grandchildren; Lewis III (Rachel), Taylor, (Alejandra), Hunter, Zoe, Katelynn, Patrick, Bridget, Benen, Amber, Kyra, Griffin, and Duncan. Lewis was a world leader in developing the discipline, Cognitive Linguistics, Professor of English, Computer Sciences, and French through Indiana State University. Lewis was born in Tennessee Ridge, TN, married in Elmwood Park, Ill and lived most of his adult years in Terre Haute IN. He was an author, barber- shop singer, innovator of experimental media assisted educational courses, established department of speech and drama at the University of the Cumberlands, KY, world traveler, and modern day Renaissance Man. Lewis enjoyed music and played piano, organ, French horn, and cornet at various churches and venues throughout his lifetime. Most of all, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and teacher and friend to many. Visitation from 10-11AM Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 2125 Tower Drive, Woodbury, with Service starting at 11AM. Reception immediately follows.
