Dad, 

You are so missed. In later years we had very little time together but my memories of our special times together as a teen are dear to my heart. Phyllis misses you greatly, it so hard to lose some one you love and were so close to as you two were. Good bye dad will see one day in heaven.

Well, Jim a year has come and gone. The garden goes onand Allen has taken over your spot and even planted canna lilies as you have always done! We continue to value your advice and enjoy your friendship, though your voice is fainter now, it is still in our hearts. Here's hoping you are infinitely happy and peacefulness is the prize for all of us who will eventually meet you there in the great beyond. Thanks for being you!

I was stunned to hear about this. I've been missing you at the garden. You taught me many valuable tricks which I shall continue to use and think of you when I do. You were a wonderful gardener and a great person to know. I'm glad I had a chance to know you, but it was just too brief. You left an indelible impression. Blessings to you Phyllis. Love will get you through.

How blessed we were to have uncle Jim in our family.  We will look with fondness upon our times in Florida and the key lime pie and grouper.  
You were a man of many talents and interests, number one being the Lord.  What a wonderful example for your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
You have earned a well deserved rest in the Lord, we will miss you.

Grandaddy Fink, I remember when i was a little girl I always thought you were the great inventor! I would brag about your talents, I admired this. I miss your stories and the memories they made. My condolences go out to Phylis, he was very loved and will be missed. The last time i was with him it was years ago at my gamies house(Cindi) and we all had a great time he will be in my heart even though i cannot be at the service. I pray for everyones heart that is in pain but he is with the good Lord and will be looking down on us.

Phyllis, i did want to say to you that i understand the pain you are going through, it is hard to lose a loved one, but when you lose your spouse it is even harder. please know that i am keeping you in my prayers. thank you for being there for Dad, i know he loved you very much

Grandfather,

I am filled with tremendous feelings and thoughts of sadness in the wake of
your death, and although I am aware that you lived a life filled with
honorable, noteworthy accomplishments and successes, it is hard for me to
believe it has all come to an end for you after 92-years.

Even though we had very few opportunities to see each other and
interpersonally interact, I have always had an inkling (based somewhat on
the conversations with my own father) that we shared much in common—from
our sense of style, presence, and personality—to our philomathic desire to
seek out and understand academic, and worldly issues.

I will continue to dream of what ‘might have been' between us as
grandfather and grandson, but most importantly, I will always think fondly
of you.

Jim, you were a holy man who anchored me in prayer and postive light when my husband was so ill.  I so appreciated all the caring bridge notes, the hugs and kind words at church, and the personal interest you took in others.  You will be greatly missed, but also greatly remembered.

I remember how we use to drive along and sing gosple music in the car-and went water skiing. Most of all you were a service man who served his country with pride and honor. Phyllis made sure your end times were exactly as you wanted staying by your side until the end and mostly you shared a wonderful life together. Dad, I love you, and remember the good times we had together when I was a boy.I regret that we the end came so quickly before we had another Fink reunion for you in September with children and grandchildren at my Finkmtn home in Elk Creek Va.
