Age 64, of Newport, was called home to our Lord on Saturday, December 15th, 2018 surrounded by loving family.
He is survived by his wife Terri; children Doug (Jessica), Jeremy (Crystal Mercer), Michele Reimers (Tom), Jonathan (Meaghan); brother Richard (Ruth), sister Cherie Nielsen, brother Chris (Raphael); 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, extended family and many close friends. He is preceded in death by his father James, mother Marilyn, sister Joan and brother Thomas.
Doug was born in St. Paul, MN to James and Marilyn (Losby) Harden.
He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic in 1978 at Northwestern College of Chiropractic and went on to receive his Diplomate American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedics in 1984. He retired from chiropractic in 2017 after 39 years of dedication to the profession.
Doug shared 46 wonderful years with his high school sweetheart, Terri. He lived a very full life and was a true family man that loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was always making people laugh with his wonderful sense of humor. Doug loved to sing and was always willing to share his beautiful voice when called upon. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and sporting clays.
He had a true passion for chiropractic and dedicated his life to helping others. He was an inspiration to many and impacted the lives of each and every person he came in contact with. If you gave him a glance he would reveal his infectious smile, learn your name, find out what brings you joy and try to turn that joy into a reality, no matter if you were family, friend or stranger – his compassion and kindness towards others had no boundaries.
