Deborah and I met at college in December of 1971. After class she sat on the steps crying, explaining she needed to get to Cleveland for some music class tutoring. Falling for this pretty girl I volunteered to drive her. After that, I could not get her to leave me alone.
The first five years of marriage, Deborah followed a teaching career path. Then came Leah and that plan was ruined but replaced with an even better one. We agreed Deborah would be a stay-at-home mom, providing love and care to our children. Regardless of what I had to do; I would support us. I left law enforcement for a safer and better paying career in insurance. Next, Deborah blessed me with William and Elizabeth.
Deborah followed me to New Orleans, Baton Rouge, New York/New Jersey, Cincinnati, Cleveland, St. Paul, St. Cloud, then back to St. Paul. All the “ups’ we celebrated together and all the downs we fought through together.
In St. Paul, our children added two more people to our family, with Amanda and Andy, two wonderful “children-in-law” who we saw as our own. They, in turn, gave us three grandchildren, Evangeline, Eli and Daniel.
Deborah made the journey to donate her organs and is back in my hands. We look forward to celebrating her life and sharing memories with our friends and family.
Please join us as we celebrate Deborah, my wife, my only lover, and my best friend.
A visitation for Deborah will be held Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Wulff Woodbury Funeral Home, 2195 Woodlane Dr, Woodbury, Minnesota 55125, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
