Born David Wayne Painter (but known to everyone as Wayne) on May 7, 1947 to John (Jack) and Judith Painter, in Mount Pleasant, PA. He grew up in Smithton, PA
Wayne was a beloved Husband, Dad, Papa, friend and neighbor.
After graduating in 1965 from South Huntingdon Township High School, Wayne entered Military Service in the United States Navy serving 4 years active duty and then in the reserve.
Wayne then worked for AT&T as a Communications Specialist for 40 years.
Wayne loved his wife, Sandy, and enjoyed spoiling her, his children and grandchildren (who called him Papa and Papa Bear) and attended as many of their events as he could.
Wayne loved the Lord, his Country, friends and neighbors.
He collected coins, phone cards, matches, and business cards. He was into trading stocks and bitcoins. He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed history. He loved traveling with his wife, and family trips.
Wayne was always willing to help anyone, and he could fix anything. He was a perfectionist - He said take your time and do it right the first time. Even after his passing, he continues to help people by being an organ donor and has helped 78 people to date.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Sandy, children Rachel (Steve) Meech, Gene (Kelly) Painter, Britt (Jean) Painter, Alta (Joel) Schaffer, Crystal (Jason) Ginsbach, Jodi Jones, 25 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren. Brothers Scott (Marilyn) Painter, Paul (Corliss) Grindstaff, Roger (Juanita) Grindstaff, Gerry (Joyce) McGowan , Sisters Kathy Oman, Susan Paul, and Jackie Hepler.

Memorial Service will be held at New Life Church, 6758 Bailey Road St Paul, MN 55129 on Wednesday April 9, 2025. Visitation 10:00 A.M., Service at 11:00 A.M., Lunch served immediately after. Burial Fort Snelling Cemetery at 1:45 P.M.
In Lieu of Flowers, donations preferred to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or Wounded Warrior Project.
