Shar’ was preceded in death by both of her parents; paternal grandparents Velma Redwood and George (Waddie) Redwood; sibling Alana Sherise; aunt Vanessa Dale and Grandmother (Kokum) Bernadette.
Sharlene was the eldest of nine and is survived by family: Jared King (Leihna), Alicia Marie (James), niece Santana Skylar and her children Jayceon and Kehlani, Michelle Lee-Ann, Gordon Lee (Annie), Lacey Chantel (Rising Sun), Jamee Louise and all of her closest dearest nephews, cousins, and friends.
Sharlene was baptized a Mormon and grew up in Treaty 4. Her desire for higher sights and diversity were her interests. Sharlene became a natural independent who didn’t conform to a life that she couldn’t write herself. A beautiful Cree woman who birthed four children: Tateesha, Tyrelle, Davery and Wesley, who she both cared for and loved from afar. The loves of her life, granddaughter Mckenna and grandsons, Niko and Kysonn. Sharlene befriended many of her lifelong soul sisters: Kerrie N, Chanty B, May P, Natalie R., Donna, Leticia, and Lindsay. Sharlene was protective, humorous and truly unique. She was intelligent and wildly intuitive, she worked hard all of her life. Shar’ passed on November 17, 2022 after living for truth, fairness, and giving it to the best of her ability.
A wake was held in the Cowessess Community Hall, Cowessess First Nation on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. The funeral service was held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. the interment was in Cowessess Cemetery.
