Born at home on the family farm north of Wolseley on the north side of the Qu’Appelle Valley. He was the youngest of six surviving siblings and as his mother would like to tell us he could be a rascal at times and she would have to chase him around the yard with the broom more than once. He attended Enfield school to grade 10 and attended St. John the Baptist Anglican Church with his family in Ellisboro, SK. Mac enjoyed playing hockey in his youth as well as ball and played for the Wolseley Steelers. He tried his hand at curling as well. Later in life he took up golf and was a Saskatchewan Roughrider fan. He was also one for a good game of cards that could carry on until the wee hours of the morning. Known for his honesty, kindness, sense of humor and twinkle in his eyes, he easily made friends wherever the road took him. He farmed the family farm for many years, or as he would be known to say God's country, and later in life took up driving truck till his retirement. He married Florence (Florie) Bishop (nee Mundy) and took as his own her three children on April 11, 1969 and they would increase the family by one Diana in September of 1975.
