Jeanne was born on October 26, 1930 in the Abernethy District, daughter of the late H.H. (Harry) and Charlotte (Emmerson) Smith. She was raised and received her public education in the rural district of Pheasant Plain/Blackwood and graduated from Indian Head High School. Jeanne trained as a lab and x-ray technician and later in radiation therapy. She was employed in various hospitals in Western Canada and California, including the Regina and Edmonton Cancer Clinics. After retirement in the Health Field, Jeanne worked in The Provincial Archives.
Jeanne is survived by her brother Stanley & Audrey and brother Les & Margaret; nephew Paul & Susan Smith (great nephews Matthew & Stephen and great niece Rachelle); niece Melonee & Michael Rose (great nephew Joshua and great niece Emma).
Jeanne was predeceased by her nephew Bob Smith.
A committal service of cremated remains will be held at a later date in the Kenlis Cemetery.
