We have very fond memories of the times we spent with you back in the cca days as well as all of the team roping’s she was a part of. One quick memory was when Ellie brought Grady to meet me in swift current for me to give him a ride back to Alberta. She packed him sandwiches and cookies for the trip. It took me two hours to get a cookie out of him.She truly was a very special lady

I was lucky enough to grow up going to Quams as a teenager learning to rope. I remember cold cold winter nights where I couldn’t wait to get into the house to warm up at the end of the night. Chris, Jeff and Tyler would have to go to bed on the nights we practiced that were during the school week then it would be just me and the older ropers. Ellie would make toast on the stove for me and it was the best tasting belly warming toast I ever ate. She was there to consul me when I fell off the panels and broke my arm in the arena one cold night. She was quick to laugh and her laugh was warm and wonderful.   I loved listening to her and Mervin rib each other. I can see her rolling her eyes and shaking her head as Mervin teased her about something or even nothing at all. Mervin and Ellie are two of the most important people for me as I grew up and I know they are that for countless others. Their immediate family is large but the rodeo/ranching/roping family is boundless. Our condolences to the Quam family. We love you Ellie. Thank you for everything you did for so so many.

I am so sad for the families.
But very special memories of growing up as a neighbour in Petrel. 
Petrel school had a lot of Ranson kids - Eileen was in the middle. 
And such good memories of the Ranson farm - always welcoming and always fun.
 Jim and his love for horses must have rubbed off on Eileen as she became a true cowgirl.
Aunt Doreen sometimes commented that Eileen and I each have a son named Tyler . I am so thankful I connected with Eileen at Doreen's funeral .

No matter how big or small the occasion, Ellie was in the stands for her grandkids. At this time she wasn’t feeling her best, but she showed up to Abernethy horse show to cheer on riata , even cheering for the dog show riata decided to enter . ❤️ we will all miss her so much.

This is one of my favourite pictures of Ellie with riata , the day of my baby shower. She was always such a proud grandma ❤️

Eileen, as I remember her, was a bridesmaid at Joan and my wedding back in 1971. Always upbeat and positive and not a mean bone in her body . Many good memories of her traveling to rodeos with Joan and I back in the good ole days. Her and Joan are at peace now and I am sure they will be together up there .
