It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts we announce that our beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin and niece, Cali Jane Pelletier, was called home by Creator on November 15, 2023. Cali Jane was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on March 24, 2006, she was from the Cowessess First Nation with ties to Cote First Nation.
Cali was greeted in spirit by her maternal grandpa Dwayne Murray, aunt Hidi Pelletier, special grandma Patricia Pelletier, step-dad Adrian Cyr (Chingy), great-grandparents Robert and Florence Pelletier; paternal great-grandfather Harold Lerat (mushum horse), mishoomis Tony Cote and coco Sadie Cote. Her physical presence will be deeply missed by all who were graced with knowing her while her spirit and memory will live on eternally, cherished by all.

Cali Jane was witty, impressive and loved her family immensely. She cherished the time she spent with her mom and younger brothers in Vancouver, and her Dada, mom and siblings in Regina. Cali had a very special love for her little sister Serenity. She was an amazing artist and loved her phone, gaming, music, videos, YouTube and her Hello Kitty collection which we all contributed to. Her favourite colours were pink, purple and black. She loved to spend time with her coco Maureen who helped raise her during her childhood years in Regina. Cali Jane was wise beyond her years. In 2020 she received the Youth Leadership Award – Vancouver Young Changemaker (thriveyouth.ca/cali). Cali presented Gone by Cali Pelletier, a poem about reconciliation and missing and murdered Indigenous people to 1,800+ participants at a Vancouver School Board event.
