It is with deep sorrow that the family of Albert announce his sudden passing. Predeceased by his parents Robert & Victorine Bear, daughter Carol, grandsons Richard & Jamie, brothers Tommy, Fred and George Bear. Albert leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife Doris of 63 years, his children Darlene (Blair Taypotat) Bear, Patti (Gerald) Delorme, Denise (George) Beaudin, Bradley (Lorrie Hotomanie) Bear, sister Marjorie Big Eagle, brother Orval (Cathy) Bear and sister-in-law Grace Bear. Dad's legacy also includes 17 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Mom & Dad also raised 3 grandchildren: Billy, Shane and Leslie. Dad will be also remembered by special newphews, John Sparvier, Fred Bear Jr and many other family and friends too numerous to list. Born in Broadview, Sask, Dad lived most of his life on the Ochapowace First Nation with time spent in Regina and Whitewood. In his younger years, Dad was known for his hockey skills playing of the Whitewood Orioles for many years. Dad also served his community as a Band Councillor, grader operator and was affectionately known by everyone as "Shum". The family would also like to thank his home care worker, Janice Taypotat for the many years that she provided care. On Monday, July 9th, the wake will begin at 4:00 p.m. at Kakisiwew School, Ochapowace First Nation. On Tuesday, July 10th, a feast will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a traditional service to follow.
