William Davis Hussey, Sr.

Bill was born in Boston on July 20, 1933 to Dr. S.A. and Marjorie Hussey, but he grew up in Gainesville where he became a Gator. He enrolled at the University of Florida in 1951, joined the Army in 1953, and graduated from Florida Southern in 1958 with a degree in Journalism. He was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at both UF and Florida Southern. For 36 years, Bill worked for the Florida League of Financial Institutions and has served on many boards in the Orlando area. His greatest accomplishment, however, was in his 58 year marriage to Elizabeth Hussey and the raising of 2 sons.

He is survived by his wife Betty, sons Billy and Jeffrey (spouses Tricia and Karen), grandchildren Alison, Ethan, and Faith, as well as his Aunt Evelyn and his cousin Susan.

The memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 142 E. Jackson St, Orlando, on Monday September 24 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cornerstone Hospice Foundation at 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778, an organization that lovingly cared for Bill in his final days.
