With the greatest sadness, we announce that Rebecca (Cookie) Ehmen Tucker, aged 63, died peacefully on Saturday, October 6th at her home, surrounded by family. Cookie was born on October 19th, 1954 in Fort Knox, Kentucky to Paul J. and Marion Ehmen. As an army brat, Cookie moved all over the United States and Germany before her family settled in Orlando, FL.
Cookie graduated from Colonial High School in 1972 while dual-enrolled at Seminole Community College; upon graduation, she gained comprehensive work experience in ophthalmology, arts, retail, and finance. She even taught herself how to play piano, design home interiors, and execute complex repairs. Cookie believed that anything worth doing was worth doing well, so everything she did was expertly done.
In November 1989, she married her long-time partner, Phillip Tucker. They had one daughter, Marina. Cookie made her family’s house a cozy and loving home where they could thrive. Not only a devoted wife and mother, she was also a reliable daughter and sister, helping her parents and siblings whenever they needed her. Cookie was the most loving and generous person, always concerned with the welfare of others.
She is survived by her husband Phil, daughter Marina (Gerard) Spicer, mother Marion Ehmen, sister Linda Ehmen, Brothers Ray, Fred, and Derek (Gloria) Ehmen, nieces Emily Gonzalez and Nicole (Matthew) Hinds, and many cousins.
A celebration of Cookie’s life will be held at the Tucker family home on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 4:00PM.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.org).
