Paul A. Root, Jr., age 73 passed March 11, 2016. He was born in Dallas, TX and raised in Greensboro, NC. He served four years in the US Air Force. Mr. Root was the former owner of Boat Tree in Orlando and was an avid boater. He also had a passion for flying and was a corporate pilot for many years. After he retired he developed a love for cycling. He is survived by his wife, Susan of 48 years; two daughters, Amy (Steve) Webb of Indian Trail, NC and Carrie (Brian) Goodwin of Orlando; grandchildren, Zack, Hannah, Connor, Parker and Kaley; sister, Emily Lipe. A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, March 15, 2016 in the Marie Williams Chapel at First Baptist Church of Orlando. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
