Nancy was born in Harrisburg Pennsylvania in 1947 to Leo and Marjorie Meier.
Nancy was the oldest of three children. Nancy's younger brother Doug Meier and her sister Sally Meier (Ranton) spent their earliest childhood years in Camp Hill, Pa, a loving family with a good Christian foundation and work ethic, instilled by their parents and grandparents .
Nancy's grandmother Edna was a central character in Nancy's life. So many stories on the family farm with Nancy and Edna and memories of midnight snacks as a child at Edna's house and all those Pennsylvania recipes like scrapple and shoe fly pie that Nancy reminisced about her entire life.
Nancy was a proud graduate of Cumberland Valley High School, class of 1965. and was an active member of the concert choir. Nancy grew up with loving friends in central Pennsylvania and loved singing folk songs with her friends at a park on a hill near Camp Hill Pa..where she later in life got the nickname, " The Negley Park girl,"
After high school, the family moved to Maitland Florida in 1965 where Nancy attended Orlando Junior College and graduated in 1968 and then continued on to further her studies at Rollins College.
The smile that lit up the room is how she was remembered in college, an avid reader and good student Nancy pursued a career in dentistry and later became a manager of several central Florida dental practices.
Nancy had three wonderful children , Jennifer , Andrew and Thomas , and early memories of first birthdays and Christmas's and first walks and first words spoken stayed as treasured memories with Nancy until the very end.
Nancy enjoyed a 2nd sister, her name was Ann Tharp. While not biologically her sister, Nancy considered Ann a sister and loved her for 50 years . It was everyday they laughed and texted, so many good times and Nancy was in the end , able to have Ann comfort her. Nancy and Ann were forever sisters.
Nancy's husband Richard was as she described , " the love of her life" and they spent the better part of the next 30 years loving each other until god took Nancy home. Nancy and Richard traveled all over the world after establishing their international manufacturing business with an office in the Netherlands and several other branches within the United States. Nancy was a central key executive within the company for 25 years and again was known for that magnificent smile and keen sense of detail within all parts of the organization.
