Margaret B. Rouse Stevenson, MS, RN, CCRN, beloved daughter, sister, mother, nana and friend to many, passed away peacefully on August 26th, 2021 at Advent Health Hospice, surrounded by family and friends.
Margie was born to the late LTC Edward B. Rouse Jr. and Margaret B. Rouse on July 3rd 1949 in San Francisco, CA.
Margie was preceded in death by her son, Richard H. Stevenson and daughter, Candice M. McDaniel.
Margie is survived by her daughter, Kimberly A. McCumber (Brian), Florida; grandson’s, Zane McDaniel and Noah McCumber, brother, Major Edward B. Rouse III, Pennsylvania, 46 cousins and best friend, Mary Beth Trice.
Margie graduated from Bishop Moore High School in 1967 and received her BS in Nursing from Barry University. Margie completed her Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Independence University and was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
In 1980, with her three little children, Margie returned to Winter Park, FL where she encouraged her children to participate in sports and community activities. She was also involved with and supported her girls in the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.
Margie loved her dogs and enjoyed riding horses, playing the guitar and traveling, especially taking cruises with friends.
Margie was a passionate and accomplished nurse who loved critical care nursing. For over 30 years she was a beacon of light in nursing leadership at Florida Hospital Orlando. As an Administrative Nurse Manager in CCU, a Critical Care Director, and then as the Chief Nursing Officer over the Cardiovascular Institute, she was instrumental in building the Cardiac Program at Florida Hospital. In all of her leadership roles, she was a strong advocate for her patients, and her nurses. With her experience and keen decision-making abilities, she brought cutting edge technologies to her patients. Marge was a phenomenal leader who was well respected by the physicians, and loved by all of her nursing staff.
She will be missed by family, friends and co-workers.

Viewing and reception will be available on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Baldwin-Fairchild Goldenrod/Winter Park Funeral Home, 7520 Aloma Ave, Winter Park, FL 32792.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 526 N Park Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789.
The Interment will take place privately at a later date at Glen Haven Memorial Park cemetery, 2300 Temple DR, Winter Park, FL 32789.
