Juanita “Nita” Hogue Lampman, 91, of Winter Park, Florida, passed away on July 13, 2022. Born in Tennessee, to parents, Vardie Hogue and Dona (Carter) Hogue she spent most of her life there. She attended Nursing School at Mid State Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Nashville, Tennessee and at John Hopkins, and received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Nita met her future husband, Leo, in Nashville and married in 1959. In 1961 they moved to Orlando, and she started her career in nursing at the Jewett Orthopedic Clinic for the next 25 years. In 1979, they moved to Louisville, Kentucky for a very short period of time and came back to Winter Park in 1980. At that point, she began working at the Navy Base Hospital as a nurse until their closure in 1998. After leaving the Navy base, she went to work as a school nurse for the Orange County Public School from 1998 to 2008, working at Arbor Ridge Elementary.
When Nita wasn’t working, she enjoyed flying with her husband who had his own pilot’s license, attending the Kentucky Derby including the 100th Derby. Most of all she enjoyed every moment with her Susan, whether they were going shopping, to eat, to the beach, or the beauty shop. Nita also loved going to Disney, she and Susan were guests there on its second day of the grand opening, in 1971. They were fortunate to return 50 years later to the day to be a part of anniversary celebration. Another special part of Nita’s life was her grandchildren. She loved spending time and spoiling them every chance she could.
Nita is survived by her daughters, Susan Lampman; Carole Stackhouse; grandchildren, Christine and her husband Joe Brooks, Leo, IV and his wife Danielle Lampman, William Stackhouse, III and Carole Anne Fatato, great grandchildren, Joseph and his wife, Rachel Brooks, Louis Fatato, Leo Lampman V, Ben Lampman, Owen Lampman, Samuel Lampman and AJay Gnanasekeram She was preceded in death by her husband Leo in 1989; son, Leo III in 2017 and daughter-in-law Kate Lampman in 2019
