Harrie Earl Crowley, 78, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2020 in Orlando, Florida from complications from cancer. He was born May 15, 1941 in Sparta, Michigan to Marion Crowley and Harrie Crowley and was raised in Sparta, Michigan where he graduated from Sparta High School. Harrie joined the United States Navy becoming an aircraft electrician assigned to FASRon 6 at NAS Jacksonville and later to Strike Fighter Squadron FV-11 deployed aboard Carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt and stationed in Rota, Spain.
After Harrie’s military service he worked as an electrician in the construction industry. He began working with Fryling Electric during the 1960’s ultimately buying the firm in the early 1980’s and relocating to Orlando, Florida. Now known as Cable Electrical Services, Harrie’s legacy lives on in his 55-year-old firm run by his two sons. Harrie’s grandson’s (the third generation) also work for the firm.
Harrie loved golf, most days you could find him on the golf course at either Hammock Dunes Country Club (Winter) or Lake Toxaway Country Club (Summer). He won Senior Club Championships, Member/Guest Tournaments with dear friends, had several hole-in-ones and shot his age dozens of times beginning when he was 69.
Harrie is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Lou Crowley, his two sons Donald Lynn Crowley (Madeline Showing) and Duane Michael Crowley (Patricia Christine Crowley). Grandchildren Bradley Alan Crowley, Taylor Michael Crowley (Vanessa Tia Crowley), Ryan Jacob Crowley and Sydney Diane Crowley. He is also remembered by his sisters Maureen Lockard of Sparta, Michigan and Carole Blake of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
A celebration of life will be planned for later this summer in Lake Toxaway, North Carolina.
