Betty Nelson was born to Lionel Geogge and Edith Orcatt Mulholland on Nov. 21, 1928 in Boston, Massachusetts.
Betty grew up in Dedham, Massachusetts where she attended public schools and graduated with highest honors from Dedham High School in 1946. She attended Simon College and was a loyal Boston Red Sox fan.
In 1954, Betty moved to Memphis, TN. To join friends there, where she met Thomas C. Nelson, on a third date while he was in Dental School. On July 7, 1956, Betty married Tom Nelson and after Tom completed his tour of duty with the U.S. Army, they moved to Orlando, FL. on Labor Day weekend that year. They visited and decided to make their home in Maitland, FL. where they remained for 64 years, welcoming their daughter Diane Elizabeth in 1961 and their son, Glenn Thomas in 1965.
Betty was a great kind and loving wife and mother, she had many friends and was known to be a good listener. She was a devout Episcopalian and worshiped at All Saints Church in Winter Park for many years. She is predeceased by her parents and siblings.
