Doris M. Owens, age 94, passed away peacefully April 21, 2017 in Deltona, FL. Born in Rome, N.Y., the daughter of Elmer and Lillian Greenfield Owens, she attended Rome schools, graduating from Rome Free Academy in 1941. She married Hugh J. Owens on February 16, 1943 in the former Bethel Presbyterian Church. She was employed by Griffiss Air Force Base and the Westmoreland Central School District before retiring and moving to Deltona in 1994.
Doris is preceded in death by her husband Hugh, her parents, and her brothers and sister, William, Ronald, Edward and Virginia. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Patricia Owens of Deltona, son, Richard Owens of Orlando, grandsons, Christopher Owens of Ocoee, FL , Michael Owens of Deltona and her great granddaughter Mckynzee Owens. Doris is also survived by her sister-in-law Margaret Owens, many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
