Denis John Shaw

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Denis lived a full and joyous life, touching the hearts of many with his warm spirit and unwavering optimism.

Denis found the love of his life in Ruth Golding. They were married on June 5th, 1971. Denis and Ruth then traveled to Miami, Florida for Denis to begin his career as a police officer for the Miami-Dade Police Department where he proudly served his community for 32 years. Denis retired as Captain working in his last assignment in the Robbery Bureau.

Denis is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ruth Shaw, his three daughters, Stefanie Shaw, Sandy Sceppaguercio, Kim Goldberg and husband Jeremy Goldberg, his seven grandchildren, Justin, Caroline, Jack, Emma, Charlie, Logan, and Miles, and his younger siblings Doug Shaw (Rhonda Podlesak), Kathy Gerardi (Peter Gerardi), Robin Shaw (Gerry Sullivan), and Tim Shaw (Anne Shaw), and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Denis’s life will be held at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home at 7520 Aloma Avenue in Winter Park, Florida on July 20, 2024 from 12:00pm-4:00pm.

Denis Shaw will be deeply missed, but he will always live in our hearts. His compassion for others and his ability to make anyone a friend will live on through anyone who had the honor of knowing him.
