

She was born July 5, 1934, in East Prairie, Mo., a daughter of Ralph and Orpha Flick Moore. She married W.D. Hale on June 9, 1951. He survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Barbara M. Avery of Kissimmee, Fla., Brenda K. (Clint) McDaniels and Becky S. (Dennis) Gifford, all of Pekin; two sons, Bobby D. Hale of Kissimmee, Fla., and Benny D. Hale of Pekin; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sylvia (Cal) Isacc of Morton, Sarah Moore of Pekin and Ethel (David) Egan of Topeka; and six brothers, Gene Moore of Bowling Green, Ky., Elmer T. Moore of Oklahoma, Charles Moore, Curt (Wanda) Moore, James (Linda) Moore, all of Pekin, and Roger (Denise) Moore of Creve Coeur.
Alma was preceded in death by one son, James Russell; one grandson; two brothers; one sister; and her parents.
Alma was employed by Brown Derby at Walt Disney in Orlando for 15 years. She previously was the owner and operator of Alma's Beauty Salon for 20 years.
She was a member of South Side Business Association and Bethel Baptist Church in Pekin.
She enjoyed selling Florida tomatoes in Pekin and Mary Kay Cosmetics. She also enjoyed bingo, Texas Hold 'em, soap operas, the St. Louis Cardinals, fishing, collecting Walt Disney pins and buying the newest technology gadgets.
She was like a social butterfly. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who would go above and beyond for her family.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin. The Rev. Jim Dawson will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Pekin.
