She was born in Orlando, FL on May 4, 1977. Allisha graduated from University of Central Florida and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.
Allisha taught for three schools over the course of her career: Pine Hills Elementary, Sunset Park Elementary, and Sunridge Elementary. Her passion was for teaching early years students to prepare them as lifelong readers and scholars. Twice she was teacher of the year, and she always viewed her success through the greatness that her students have accomplished.
Allisha was also the executive director for STARs of West Orange. This is a nonprofit that serves to get school supplies to students across Orange County. Her passion was in making sure that students had basic needs fulfilled. This included delivering food and clothing to families in the area and having a food pantry available at her school.
She is survived by her husband Lee Douglas, child Emily Douglas, and sister Tamara Carpenter. She is predeceased by her paternal grandparents Wyatt and Joyce Carpenter, maternal grandparents Keith and Corine Mattheson, and her parents Randy and Dr. Frances Carpenter. Her memory will live on through her large family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins She will also be remembered through her many close friends and through the many people that she has taught throughout the years.
