Robert Lee Jones

Robert Lee Jones, affectionately known as“Bobby” and in later years as “Honest Bob” was born in Winter Haven Florida, on October 10, 1941 to Burton and Melbie Jones. He grew up right here in Winter Haven alongside his brother Alan Jones and his sister Sybil Jones Simo. He attended Snively Elementary School, Winter Haven High School and South Eastern University. As a young man, he served his country faithfully in the United States Army. During his time in service he suffered a devastating and life changing injury that resulted in his honorable retirement. Bob returned home with a reignited passion for his church and its youth. During this time he became enamored with his one true love Sharon Paulette Blakley. On April 6, 1963 they were married at First Assembly of God Church in Winter Haven. They remained married to this very day. God blessed them with two children Angela Lea Jones Dawson and Timothy Paul Jones. Bob and Paulette’s enduring love story culminated in six grandchildren, Paul, Caleb, Hannah, Abigail, Jacob and Rebekah who were truly the light of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents Burton and Melbie Jones. He is survived by his sister Sybil and her husband Richard Simo, His brother Alan and his wife Sara Helen Jones and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. And of course his loving wife, children and grandchildren.

Robert Lee Jones will be remembered by his Family and Friends on Monday, November 20th at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Winter Haven, Florida.
