John S. Nethercott

Mr John S. Nethercott, 92, of Winter Haven, was called to his Heavenly home Tuesday, Oct 30th, 2012 by his Heavenly Father and his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Mr Nethercott was born June 12, 1920 in Traverse City, Michigan...the son of Arthur & Lucy (Spears) Nethercott. He was a member and Deacon at First Baptist Church where he and his wife Janet served faithfully for many years. He served as a young man in the U.S. Armed Forces. His work career was primarily in the U.S. Post Office from which he retired some years ago. He and wife Janet owned and operated a school for training health care workers. Later, after retirement, John and Janet founded a prayer ministry with loyal friends called the Nethercott Ministry of Miracles and Wonders where there were many successful answers to prayer. John was also a devoted member of Gideons International where John has many friends and co-workers. John was preceded in death by his wife Janet in 2001.

He is survived by a sister and her husband, Ruth (Nethercott) & Horace Lackey of Roanoke Va; a niece, Ruth Cilke of Traverse City Mich; a dear friend and caregiver, Irene G. Twiddy, of Haines City; and a dear friend and emotionally adopted son, Jim Claussen of Lakeland; and a host of many friends far and wide.

Visitation will be a 10-11 a.m. Thursday, November 8th, at the Ott-Laughlin Funeral Chapel, 645 W. Central Ave,

Winter Haven...followed by the Funeral service in the Chapel that same morning at 11:00 a.m.
