

Jeanette Young Swain, 93, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida. She lived over 60 years in Winter Haven, retired in Lakeland and vacationed almost every summer in North Carolina.
Born on May 22, 1931, Jeanette devoted her life to her family and home. As a dedicated housewife, she created a warm and loving environment that nurtured generations. Her days were filled with energy and joy, often spent outdoors or engaged in creative pursuits.
Jeanette had a deep appreciation for nature and an active lifestyle. She found great pleasure in golf, tennis, hiking, fishing, and bowling—activities that brought her both challenge and camaraderie. At home, she enjoyed the quiet satisfaction of gardening and the artistry of quilting. She loved Elvis and did a mean jitterbug.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Russell Swain; Her parents Radford and Tressie Young; her sister, Doris Davis; and her niece, Joyce Siciliano. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Brian, Bruce, Russell, and Christine Shaw; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
