WINTER HAVEN -
Mrs. Janet Sue Martin Holman, wife of David D. Holman, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2016, at 10:40 a.m. at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale. The daughter of George and Ottie Lee Martin, she was born October 25, 1935, in Larned, Kansas. Janet Sue has been a resident of Winter Haven, Florida, since 1969. Becoming an accomplished pianist at an early age, she was a church choir member, soloist, and church pianist for many years. Janet was a graduate of Kansas University in 1953 with a degree in Elementary Education. She was awarded the honor of teacher of the year in 1998, as well as many other honors. Over 40 years later, former students would still stop and ask, “Mrs. Holman, remember me? You taught me in the first grade.”
