Frances Dolamore

Frances Cole Dolamore, age 98, was a beloved Gold Star Mother, grandmother, and friend. She went home peacefully to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 20th, 2017 at Rosecastle at Delany Creek Assisted Living in Brandon, Florida.

Frances is survived by Jerry Howard Cole and wife Deborah of Fort Mill, South Carolina; John Albert Cole and wife Anita of Havelock, North Carolina; Chief Warrant Officer (USA Ret) David Milton Cole and wife Robyn, of Lithia, Florida; ten grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by eldest son Richard Wilson Cole, husband Woodrow “Woody” Wilson Cole, and husband Earl William Dolamore, all from Winter Haven, Florida.

Frances was born on August 11th, 1919 in Lyons, Georgia to George Pennington Howard and Cora Page Howard. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1938. Frances and Woody were married in 1940 and she supported Woody’s career in retail as Manager of McCrory’s in Winter Haven until his retirement. Together they raised a beautiful family of four sons. Sadly, they lost their eldest, 1st Lt. Richard Cole in Vietnam.

Frances was an Interior Designer for Sears, receiving multiple awards throughout her career. Her artistic gifting was evident whether she was designing and sewing clothes, painting on canvas and china, or playing songs of faith on the piano. As in the 23rd Psalm, the Lord was truly Frances’ shepherd leading her through a life of faith. She dedicated her energy and love to churches in Florida and North Carolina and she will be remembered by her kind spirit, sparkling blue eyes, and beautiful smile.

A funeral is scheduled for 11:00am at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Winter Haven. Richard Pennington Cole, grandson, will officiate the ceremony.
