Winter Haven - Mrs Grace Elizabeth "Betty" Fierro, age 85, of Winter Haven, FL passed away Friday, September 30, 2011 at her residence due to Alzheimer's. She was born September 21, 1926 in Crozet, Virginia the daughter of William Fleming and Grace Lee (Taurman) Murray. She was a Senior Underwriting Specialist with the State Farm Insurance Company regional office, retiring after 40 years of service. She was inducted into the State Farm Insurance Hall of Fame.

Betty was a member of Beymer Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a recipient of the prestigeous Banker's Cup Award for "Woman of the Year 2002". She was President of the local Pilot's Club and District Lt. Govenor of the Pilot's Club International. She was past president of the Auxillary for the Winter Haven and lake Wales hospitals, Theater-Winter Haven Guild, Winter Haven Symphony Guild, Bok Tower Guild and Friends of Library. She was a member of the Alley Cat Bowling Team when they won the Sr. League Championship.

Betty is survived by her husband, of 63 years, John Fierro of Winter Haven, FL and sister Joyce M. Thacker of St. Cloud, FL.

Visitation is Monday from 6-8pm October 3, 2011 at Ott-laughlin Funeral Home, Winter Haven, FL. Funeral Services are Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Beymer Memorial Methodist Church. Entombment will take place at Lauderdale Memorial Park, Fort, Lauderdale, FL.
