Devona Johnson, 68, passed away on November 4, 2021 in Winter Haven, Florida. She was born on July 22, 1953 in Winter Haven and was a lifelong resident of this area. She was retired from her work at the Publix Warehouse. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning fresh fruit and vegetables, raising her chickens, crocheting, reading, and traveling. She loved her family and her poodles.
Devona was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry Gilbert Shaw and Mildred Louise Lingo Shaw. She is survived by her husband of 25 years Milton Johnson, sons, Michael Mathes (Natasha) and Chad Mathes (Lacey) both of Winter Haven, granddaughters, Kallysta Mathes of Winter Haven, Kieya Mathes of Winter Haven, Anna Montgomery of Churchill, Virginia, and Olivia Mathes of Winter Haven, brother Nickey Shaw (Lynne) of Auburndale, Florida, niece Julies Shaw Ford (Paul) of Auburndale, Florida and their children Sophia and James, two cousins that were like siblings to her, Diana Willard of Winter Haven, Florida, and Jeffrey Campbell of Mt. Sherman, Kentucky, her two poodles, Jade and Ivy, and many other beloved family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Auburndale Memorial Park on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 1 p.m.
