Charles “Charlie” Tyler was born July 6, 1945, in Miami, to Thomas Courtenay & Glyn (Kingham) Tyler. He married Janis Tyler on May 11, 1967 in Haines City, Florida. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Charlie served in the United States Army as a paratrooper for three tours. He worked over 40 years in the elevator trade, and served as a mentor to many men in the trade. After his retirement in 2012, Charlie was very active in his community and enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing, and cruising. He was a loving husband and devoted father, grandfather, and uncle.
Charles is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Courtenay Tyler, mother, Glyn Kingham Tyler, and sisters, Caroline Tyler Newcomb and Fern Tyler Taylor.
Charles is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janis Tyler of Winter Haven , FL, his children, Donna Tyler Richey of Pell City, AL, Debbie Tyler Thompson of Pell City, AL, Charles Henry Tyler, Jr (Chuck) of New Bedford, MA, his grandchildren, Matt (Sarah) Woellert, Jimmy (Jennifer) Woellert, John Richey, Robert Richey, Courtenay (Joshua) Hardy, Casey Mott, Chelsea Tyler, Britaney Tyler, Autumn Tyler, Charles Henry Tyler III (Trae), Addison Tyler, his great grandchildren, Savannah Woellert, Elijah Woellert, Moriah Woellert, Hazel Woellert, Ryan Woellert, Lucas Woellert, Nolan Hardy, Dalton Hardy, Deacon Hardy, & many nieces, nephews, & cousins.
