Charlene Balleine Tell

Charlene was born April 10, 1940 in Ottumwa, Iowa to the late Esther Marie Gosnell and Charles Ellis Bales.

She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Tell of Winter Haven; her sister, Carole Imbo (Frank) of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania; two sons, Brian Motley of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania and Doug Motley (Karen) of East Lansing, Michigan and their six children, Adam, Jacob, Isaac (Baileigh), Elijah, Abigail, and Mikaela.

Charlene was an intelligent, focused and spunky woman who earned a bachelors in mathematics at the University of Iowa, was an early computer programmer for AT&T, a math teacher, tennis coach, and an entrepreneur who founded Heritage House, a full-service needlepoint shop. She most recently enjoyed volunteering at the Winter Haven Library bookstore, playing pickleball, spending time with her family, and traveling with her husband.

A gathering of family and friends in honor of Charlene will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, 645 W. Central Ave., Winter Haven, Florida 33880. Visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 am followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am.
