Educator
Winter Haven – Mrs. Carol T. Rosenbloom, age 83, of Winter Haven, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Good Shepherd Hospice due to Alzheimers/dementia. She was born in Princeton, IL on January 22, 1927, the daughter of Albion J. Tavenner and Mildred L. Gale.
Mrs. Rosenbloom was an educator. She taught language arts and social studies in Illinois schools for thirty years. She also was a receptionist for TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) and she worked for Weight Watchers for twelve years. She was a member of Epworth Methodist Church in Elgin, IL and a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. A list of accomplishments by her are: she played the violin in Lincoln Jr. High School on Rockford, IL. She directed the youth choir in the Methodist church in Woodstock, IL. She sang in the Illinois Wesleyan University Chorus and received her Bachelor of Education degree from there. She received her Master of Education degree from the University of Illinois. She was also a donor of two gallons of blood over her lifetime.
Mrs. Rosenbloom is survived by her husband, of 60 ½ years, Harry R. Rosenbloom, son Ray Rosenbloom, Lake Alfred, FL, brother Rev. Herbert Tavenner, Lubbock, TX, four Nephews and one Niece.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 9, 2010 from 4 till 5 pm with Memorial Services at 5pm at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Winter Haven. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, FL 33823.
