Betty Jo Ewin

Winter Haven- Betty Jo Ewin passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014 due to heart disease. She was born July 2, 1931 in Deleon Springs, FL the daughter of Christopher and Mary Denton Lastinger. She retired from GTE after 34 years of service having started out as an operator and being promoted to dispatcher. She was a member of the Eagle Lake Baptist Church and a member of the Winter Haven Eastern Star chapter 74.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Herman S Ewin, and siblings Harvey, Harold, William E. and Bertha Mae.She is survived by her son Gary Ewin (Robin), sister Viola Shepherd (Ken), granddaughters Erica Sowell (James) and Dana Daniels (Kayle), great-grandchildren Mekenzie, Madison, Kayleigh, Ethan, Kendal and Delaney.

Visitation is Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 10-11am with funeral services at 11:00am, both at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Winter Haven.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice.
