Arthur Louis, 84, passed away on December 11, 2012 at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Auburndale, FL due to respiratory failure. He graduated high school in Bridgeton, NJ and then went to Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN where he received his doctorate degree. After retiring from the US Air Force, he went into private practice. He was a member of the National, State, and Local Optometric Associations, the Hiram Masonic Lodge of Winchester, VA, the Eastern Star, the Shaddai Shriners’ Temple of Panama City, FL, and a member of the Board of the Shriners’ Hospitals for Children in Tampa, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ina Louis, and a sister, Mary Woolnough. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Louis, a daughter, Karen Hart, a granddaughter, Katherine Hart, and two nephews, Mark Woolnough, Birmingham, AL, and John Woolnough, Parker, CO.
A visitation will be held at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Winter Haven, from 6 to 8 pm with a Masonic service at 7 pm, on Friday, Dec. 14th. A Funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 15th, at 11 am, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Winter Haven and a graveside service will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on Monday, Dec. 17th at 10:30. Memorial donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, or the Shriners’ Hospitals for Children.
