Winter Garden resident and Winter Garden Heritage Foundation volunteer Lee Ann Jones Owens died this week. A member of the Lakeview High School Class of 1960, Lee Ann often paid visits to the Foundation office to chat and share family history.
Her grandfather was J.W. "Sawgrass" Jones, who farmed produce and citrus on Deer Island in the Killarney neighborhood.
When helping Jim trace her family tree recently, she demurred when asked to pose for a photo. "You can use my yearbook picture if it ever comes to that," she laughed.
