Keith Norbert Neckles was born in the parish of St. Patrick’s, Grenada, W. I. He was the son of the late Assistant Superintendent of Police (of the Eastern District) Norbert Neckles and Josephine Neckles. He grew up and lived in Chapel Road, Grenville Grenada.
He attended the St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School (SAASS), where he was a model student and excelled as an outstanding athlete in high jump and art in which he got a distinction in the GCE O’Level. After graduating from SAASS, he worked as a clerk at the Grenville Magistrate Court until he migrated to the USA in 1978.
Keith loved music. He learned to play music very early in life and was just gifted at playing any musical instrument that he touched. He taught himself music and found that his favorite instrument was the bass guitar, which he mastered excellently! While he lived in Grenada, he was the bass guitarist for the bands MOSS and Mystic Explosion. Keith loved his music but his love for his family was even stronger. He always visited, called and sent cards for every occasion to those who were far away.
He worked at Holy Cross Hospital in New Jersey for many years as a tech before he retired and moved to Florida. Keith was recognized many times for the quality of his work performance. He was a caring and diligent caregiver who made a significant impact in the lives of all he touched.
Left to mourn are his loving wife, Dawn, daughter Cheyrenne Francois, son-in-law Dexter Francois, granddaughters T’Keyah and Courtney. Step children Darren, Simone, and Leah Moseley, Siblings: Percival, Corine , Dr. Winston Neckles, Sheron, Curtis, Randolph Baptiste and Henry Antoine. (His brother Eric and sister Denise preceded him in death). Sisters-in-law Verbina Bain, Patsy Neckles and Genevieve Neckles. Brothers-in-law Patrick Clara and Eros Jessamy. Many loving nephews, nieces, and numerous cousins, countless friends and loved ones.
During the health challenge he faced, his family prayed and comforted him daily. We never gave up hope until the Lord called him home. We acknowledge and are thankful for all who visited him and lifted his spirits especially his dear cousins Velma Hutchinson-Daniel and Carl Bain, George Lett his brother in law, Matthew Lett, his niece Karen Seales, and One In Christ Ministries family who brought prayers and visited him regularly in the Rehabilitation Center and brought love, joy and laughter to him.
Dearest Keith, you touched so many lives in your, quiet, gentle loving ways. You were a kind-hearted person and we know that you loved the Lord and always spoke to your Heavenly Father. You often walked with new Bibles whenever you were visiting anywhere and left a copy with whosoever needed one. You will be greatly missed. We love you dearly but Jesus loved you more. So rest dear Keith in the arms of your Creator and Father and be at peace.
