I had worked for Jerry many many years ago in Va when he was in the cleaning business. I never forgot Jerry and Judy. I was sad to know he had passed away but we hope to see him again in heaven

Jerry definitely had a big heart. He was one of the coolest people I have ever met and had the pleasure of working with. He had an innate ability to recognize when people were going through something and would not hesitate to wrap his arms around you and just ask how you were doing. He always had something uplifting or positive to say. We have shared countless laughs in a short period of time and have spoken about all sorts of things from cars, to family, to racing, and other sports. But he would almost never leave a room without checking on you first and whispering great advice in your ear that made you think about life in a brighter light. 

Jerry and I were best of friends. We met and talked about 3 years ago in Orlando. Had lunch and promised to stay in touch. 
Talked just prior to our 50th class reunion, he promised to attend but something came up and he couldn’t make it.  He was my friend, my buddy.  Sorely missed. To the Jet, Love you man.

I knew Jerry through my cousin, Judy Sue Gould.  I would visit her in Huntington and dated Jerry whenever I visited.  I first saw him at a school event, where he sang "I'll be home for Christmas".   He was dressed as if he were in the Navy and his voice and presence drew me to him immediately.  I knew Joe also, although briefly.

I saw this obituary quite by accident and viewed the video, which made me quite happy.  His wife and family are lovely; no surprise as he was quite a guy.  I see that he has a daughter named Sheryl, just the same name and spelling as my name.   Perhaps coincidence, but I'd like to think he had fond memories of me too.  I'm so pleased he had such a wonderful life and I know you will all miss him terribly.  My very best to each member of his family.

Jerry was a great example of kindness with a smile! Always warm and loving when he greeted friends or patrons. We had some great talks very openly where he shared his love for his family, his faith along with how his week was going.

 It was a wonderful service with all speakers talking from the heart about his faith, his love for family and his competing. Jerry will be with everyone in spirit smiling from above. I was blessed to have him in my life during the years he worked with us at Andy Frain. Loved the sax played by Jack Turner at his service for the song "Amazing Grace". Everyone from the singer to piano to sax to speakers made Jerry proud I am sure.

So thankful we were able to make it down to Florida with the family this past fall, the fact that I was able to carry on one more conversation and wrap my arms around that man one more time is something Ill always be thankful for. It was a privilege to have known him, this world was a better place with him in it. Heartfelt condolences to the entire family, Jerry will be missed greatly. Love from the Evans Family. 

I've known Jerry for a few years working with him at the Amway Center.  He was an awesome man.  He always, always greeted you with a huge smile and kind words.  Jerry was always genuinely interested in me and my family's well being and many times we had conversations about our children and his grandchildren.  You could feel the pride and love he had for his family when he spoke of them.  I will miss Jerry dearly as will so many others.  My heartfelt condolences to his wonderful family that he loved so, so much.

Jerry was a great friend to me. He was always there if you needed him. He helped me to stay on coarse when tragedy struck my family. His big personalty and smile will be greatly missed.

My Father, Conard was called to heaven the very year that I was born,  but I always felt my Fathers love though my Uncle Jerry, Aunt Sue and Uncle Joe. Uncle Jerry  always showed me and my children so much love..I will miss his kind words and long talks.  I wish that I could have been in heaven to see his reunion with my Father, dear Jacob, and his parents Mame and Poppie.   Thank you for always loving me and sharing your faith with me until we are together again..

Just talked to Jerry I think on the 9th of February, he was very excited about moving on golf course. Ive known Jerry since 7th grade. We would talk every couple of weeks. God bless all of the family. I know hes in heaven weve had some deep talks about God and our faith.

Joe, Sue for some reason the first thing I thought of was us all setting in your living room,and laughing and talking about anything just having fun with your parents and of course Jerry Dale. So many memories from playing sports with Jerry and of me, Jerry and Butch McClure running around in his 57 chevy. Never had anything but great memories when I thought of him.  Talked to him on the phone a few years ago but wish I had done that more often. My thoughts and prayers go out to each of the family members. Jerry set a fine example for all who knew him. I am saddened to read of Jerry's passing. I have not heard from him since our athletic days at East High. I just heard from him in the last two weeks. My deepest sympathies are extended to his family on their loss. He was a very good man.

Jerry grew up down the street from me in highlawn in Huntington we ran some together and played ball. Coach Clark who passed away two weeks ago would keep me updated somewhat on jerry. I cannot imagine the size of the loss you are feeling. Jerry was an amazing role model and he had a profound impact on my life. I pray that God provides you comfort during this difficult time.

I've known Jerry Dale since we were 9 or 10 years old. Played basketball in the driveway near his home on 28th street many times. I considered him and his family very good friends. God Bless.

Jerry was an amazing individual to work with at our job in event management at the Amway Center & other venues as well.  I'm still shocked and surprised by his unfortunate passing.   He was always pleasant to work with and he always made my day even better and full of joy.  I remember once having a long discussion on the way to a job we were going to work at.  On that long car ride he spoke a lot about his wonderful family and kids and how much he loves them and misses them when they aren't around at certain times.  I will always remember my wonderful experiences and time with Jerry.  He was always a happy go lucky guy who brought much happiness and joy  to peoples lives.  I will definitely miss him dearly.

We recently loss one of our oldest and dearest friends. So suddenly,  Jerry  Dale left us with many memories and stories to tell, He was a legend  in his own time, a good man with many talents. He loved his God, family, friends  and country. We will miss him, but never forget him. We both loved him!!

  I just saw Judy Phillips post and learned that Jerry Phillips went to heaven on Sat. Feb. 10th.   Jerry was our worship leader at Potomac Chapel, when we were living in VA.,  He would come  to our Christian Bookstore and buy tapes to sing to.  We encouraged him to record his own tape --- and it was awesome!  My favorite song on it is Bethlehem Morning.  At that time I asked him if he would sing the song "Home Where I Belong" by B.J. Thomas at my funeral someday, and he said he would.  I have been thinking of the lyrics today, like "While I'm here I'll serve Him gladly and sing Him all these songs.." Jerry Dale and I were good friends in Huntington West Virginia. I always think back about the good friends I had growing up. Jerry Dale was one of those friends. My deepest sympathy to Judy and the family.

Jerry and Judy were long-time friends of Becky and I who met each other thru our mutual love of God and Tom Kennington's Sunday School class at First Baptist Windermere. He will be missed until we meet again in Heaven.

Jerry was larger than life. When you were with him one knew the conversation would be engaging and often times funny. Jerry was NOT ashamed of the Gospel. His love for God and others permeated every cell of his body. I will miss him here.....but oh what a glorious reunion in Heaven!

He was a mentor, my boss at one time, and as of late counseled me, which if we did not reunite I never would have never have received his comfort and advise. God bless Jerry Dale Phillips

I wish I had spent more time with Jerry but the time I spent with him was so helpful. He made me a better person and I will never forget his love!

Jerry and I grew up together in Huntington West Virginia. We lived a few blocks from each other and became close friends   Many of my high school memories will always include Jerry.           I will miss you my friend But I take comfort in knowing

My cousin Jerry was a special person. I will never forget his trip to see me in the desert of Southern California and our sunrise fellowship together as we watched the world wake up. I will miss his encouragement and constant sharing of his love of Jesus with me whenever we had occasion to speak. The King family here in California send our love and prayers to Judy and all of the family.

We just talked the other day and he was saying he was gonna come up to Cincinnati to see me! Sincere heart felt sympathy to Jerry Dale's family. Judy always said she could tell if it was someone from WV calling him, cause they would ask for "Jerry Dale".

What a total shock to my brother and I who worked with Jerry in guest services.  We had just seen him on the 8th and he told us that his football coach(I believe high school not college) had just died and how sad that was! Perhaps a new football team is forming in Heaven and Jerry's name came up to fill a position.  He will certainly be missed with his wonderful personality and great dimples!!
