He was born in Queens, New York on July 24th, 1955 from parents Julian Holmes and Theresa (Lee) Holmes, and was sixty-seven. Following 38 years of service with the Ramapo Police Department in New York, he concluded his career as Lieutenant, Special Services. He was a dedicated husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family and supporting his daughters. He enjoyed coaching Varsity Football Special Teams, and Girls’ Varsity Softball at John S. Burke Catholic High School. His favorite sports teams were the New York Giants, San Francisco Giants and the New York Islanders.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah, and daughters Heather Holmes (Brian Piasecki), and Amy Holmes.
David will be best remembered for his quick-witted humor, incredible dad-jokes, “amazing” magic tricks, and caring heart. Family and friends are invited to a visitation held at Baldwin-Fairchild Winter Garden, 428 E Plant St, Winter Garden, FL 34787, on Thursday October 13, 2022 from 4-8 pm. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 5125 S Apopka Vineland Rd, Orlando, FL 32819, at 11 am on Friday October 14, 2022, followed by his burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Rd, Gotha, FL 34734.
