Carolyn Wanda Coffey

Carolyn was born to Kate and Oscar T Jones on May 13, 1934 in Cool Springs, North Carolina. She was the youngest daughter of 6 and had one younger brother.

Carolyn married Sidney Louis Coffey, Jr at the tender age of 20 years old and began her service to our country as his military bride. She followed him on many tours of duty both in the U.S. as well as out of the country for the next 25 years. They attended church services on many different military bases.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her son, Charles Richard (Pete) Coffey. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Sidney Louis Coffey, Jr; their children and children’s spouses, Michael Dennis Coffey (Sharon) of Winter Garden, FL; Lori Ann Gallagher (Patrick) of Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Kevin Lee Coffey (Denissa), Kara Lynn Martin (Kevin), Katie Annette Pait (David) and Alyssa Lindsay Gallagher and 6 Great Grandchildren: Zachary James Miller (Rachel), Joseph Michael Coffey, Lena Victoria Martin, Gabriel Angel Coffey, Addison Shae Martin, Walker Allen Sidney Pait, Her sister Rubye Harmon (Alvin) of Concord, NC and her brother, Billy Jones (Christine) of Portsmouth, VA

A private family service will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting any donations to be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) or to the Alzheimers Foundation of America (alzfdn.org)
