Vallie (Val) Jewel Gillespie Allman, age 84 of Rural Hall, the widow of Armand C. Allman died Tuesday August 31 at Kate B Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born September 13, 1936 in Surry County to the late Howard Lawrence and Ila Freeman Gillespie. Mrs. Allman graduated from Dobson High School in 1954 and moved to Forsyth County in 1956.
She was a longtime member of Woodland Baptist Church and the Auditorium Sunday School Class. She retired from Wachovia Bank and was a member of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Forsyth County and was a volunteer at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
She enjoyed doing genealogy work and collected family history of her ancestors. Surviving her are a number of cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 11AM on Friday, September 3 at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall.
