He was born February 18, 1925, in Winston-Salem, to the late Hubert and Vivian Hailey. Brock wasa member of the former Parkway Baptist Church.
Mr. Hailey proudly served his county in the US Navy during WWII. He served in the South Pacific where he maintained aircrafts as an aviation Machinist Mate First Class on the USS Tulagi.
He was an avid golfer until the age of 92 at which time he shot his age. He not only loved golf, but at the tender age of 75 he earned his pilot license. Boating was another passion of his and he also could out ski his kids.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his sister,Peggy Goings; granddaughter, Bridgette K. Mooney; grandson, Tripp Hailey; and daughter-in-law, Mary Nell Hailey. Brock leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Mabel Goodman Hailey;daughters, Tina (Rich), Myra (Bobby), Sheila (Mitch); son, Skip Hailey; grandchildren, Erik, Lisa (Darryl), and Justin; great-grandchildren, Austin, Hailey, and Shane; and many other family members and friends.
The funeral service will be on Wednesday, March 1, at 3p.m., at Forsyth Memorial Park in the Mausoleum Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
