Clement Magnus Reid

Clement was born in Kingston, Jamaica on October 22nd 1945 to parents Violet Reid Ankle and Adolphus Reid. Clement , at an early age, showed great interest and skill with numbers and finance. He would attend St. George’s College where he would obtain his first of two degrees. Clement was studious by day but at night he was known to DJ wonderful reggae tunes at clubs and friends homes. He was also quite the dancer with an unparalleled musical knowledge. Clement was introduced to Phyllis Rose by her cousin and so began a 61 year love story. Clement and Phyllis married in 1966.

After working in Jamaica for several years, Clement decided to make his way to the United States to pursue opportunities for his family. Clement arrived in New York in 1978 and soon after, obtained employment with Merrill Lynch. Clement worked for Merrill Lynch for over 13 years. Always looking to better his families lives, Clement, at age 47 returned to college. This time attending prestigious Fordham University, where at age 51, he would obtain his second degree in finance. Clement worked as an accountant with Two’s Company until his retirement in 2015. Clement and his wife Phyllis relocated to Winston Salem NC in 2015 to join their daughter and grand children. Clement passed away on Feb 20th 2022 at 10:30am. He is survived by his wonderful Wife Phyllis, Son Bunny Rose, Daughters Audia Reid- Murray and Marcia Wilson Sons, Andrew and Bradley Reid, Brother Cecil Reid, Sister Mary Peart, 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, in-laws and lifelong friends. There will never, ever be another Clement Reid, he will be missed beyond words.
