Barbara B. Page, 71 years of age, transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday, Sept 25th, 2021 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. She poured out herself completely and her purpose was fulfilled. She left here on her own will, choosing to be absent from body and eternally present with the Lord, “my daddy” as she affectionately called Him. She fought a good fight, she finished the course she kept the faith and now she will receive her crown of righteousness.
Barbara was born on July 2, 1950 in Winston Salem, North Carolina to the late Queen Esther Caldwell Brown & Harry Louis Brown. She was the second of four girls. She grew up in North Carolina and was educated in the Winston Salem Forsyth County school system.
Barbara met and fell in love with Cornelius Page and they were married in Winston Salem on November 19, 1977. She was the absolute love of his life and his life was centered around her. Their marriage was a love story that was sanctioned and ordained by God. Marriage relations was one of their ministries and not only did they teach it but they lived it. One of Cornelius’s quotes to her was, “I love you so much, I just don’t know what to do”.
Barbara and Cornelius have three wonderful children, Carla Allen, Willie Facyson III and Garnett Facyson. Now here’s where her story takes an amazing turn. If you knew her well, she would correct the above statement concerning her children. Mothering was another of her ministries. She gave birth to three but, she would tell you that she had many children. Some she raised, some she gained through marriage into her family and some, God said was her assignment. Dacia Facyson was one of her daughters she gained through marriage to Garnett. She would emphatically tell you in no uncertain terms that, Dacia is my daughter! She raised William Lindsey II, Gregory Burnett and Sharon Howell-Smith. Barbara loved her family and mothering children. Even elderly people would call her Mother Page or Mama Page because she earned the respect and love of others.
God was the absolute center of her life. She was saved in her early twenties. God called her to preach on November 5, 1976. She was ordained an Evangelist. She obtained her Master’s degree in Theology from Bethlehem Bible College. She devoted her life to helping others and when you encountered her, you knew she was special as she displayed and overwhelming sense of love (God’s love). She was a giver, she was unselfish, self-sacrificing and loved unconditionally. She never forced you to accept Jesus Christ. Just like Christ, she accepted you as you were. If you remained around her, you would change because you would come to know the God she knew. Whenever she was around, she changed the atmosphere. Her life was devoted to intercessory prayer and her inner man prayed without ceasing. If you ever needed her, she was there wholeheartedly. So many people were blessed by her presence and wanted to remain in her presence continuously. She was a people person and she said God taught her so that she could teach others. Her gift of prophecy was accurate. If she told you it was going to be alright, you could bank on it. She had that God given ability to know what was going on in your life and she would deal with you according to what God revealed. Her motto was “deal with people where they are”. You always felt important in her presence and she made you feel special. Speaking of special, she would tell her children and grandchildren, “You are my favorite”. We discovered that she said that to each of us and she had a way of making you believe that you were the only favorite. Her children and grandchildren would playfully argue with each other saying “no, I am her favorite” We all knew that each of us was her favorite in our own special way.
Barbara leaves to cherish her loving memory: her husband, Cornelius Page; sisters, Carlotta Faye Brown, Janice McCollum (Greg), Cynthia Brown, Laverne Carter, Donna Simpson and Meredith Jane Enoch; Uncle, Norman Caldwell; children, Dacia Facyson, Regina Facyson, Carla Allen (Curtis Ellerbe), Willie Facyson III, (Tamiko), Garnett Facyson (Dacia), William Lindsey Jr., Yolanda Civers, Sharon Howell Smith, Gregory Burnett, Alyson Davis (Ronnie), Erica Renee Simpson and Rickey Allen; grandchildren; Rickey Allen Jr, Cornelia Allen (Antwan Mosely), Alonzo Allen (Ciera Winfrey), Jamorice Hughley, Jamonica Facyson (Rico Allison), Jameisha Facyson (Steven Stowe) , Garnett Cornelius Facyson, Alisha Waddell, Leonard Simpson II, Anthony Simpson, Naomi Simpson, William Lindsey III, Teneka Watson, Micah Lindsay and Michelle Lindsay; 14 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other family members and friends.
