Yam Fong Wong

March 17, 1907 - November 13, 2013

Peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the age of 106 years, Yam Fong passed away at Concordia Hospital.

She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Yuk Sang and her son-in-law Gerry Yee; her daughter-in-law Faye Wai Wan Yee Wong; her paternal grandchildren, Jack (Jenny), Dennis (Miranda), Linda, Leo (Lisa); her maternal grandchildren, Donna (Greg), William, Wallace (Kelly), Doris, Winston (Sandie); her paternal great-grandchildren, Peter, Karen, Sandra, Fiona; her maternal great-grandchildren, Janessa, Justin, Tyler, Brianna, Autumn, Carissa; many nieces and nephews. Yam Fong will also be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her many extended family and friends across Canada, The USA, and China.

Yam Fong was predeceased by her parents, loving husband San Wong, beloved son Ken Sang, and paternal great-granddaughter Judy.

Yam Fong was born in Toi Shan, China on March 17, 1907, moved to Hong Kong, and then immigrated to Canada in 1968 to join and be reunited with her family. Family and friends knew Yam Fong as a loving, caring, and gentle individual; always graciously grateful for her blessings.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of N2 East ward of Concordia Hospital, Dr. James Hugh Dubberley and Dr. Kim Baril, attending physicians, and family physician, Dr. Angel Ip.

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 10:00 am at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway, with a reception to follow. Viewing will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, just prior to the service. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery.
